I brought my suburban in for an oil change, tire rotation, and to have them look at the broken latch on my console. I was told that the only solution for the console was to replace the entire thing at a cost of over $1,200 ($800 for the console, $400 for labor). My husband called the dealership and asked if it was possible to just replace the latch. He was told that Chevy doesn’t service the latch itself and that the service department could only replace the whole console. My husband told them not to replace it and we ordered a replacement latch online for $10. It came yesterday and my husband got it installed in less than 5 minutes. It is probably not the fault of the dealership that they wouldn’t service the latch, but I find it ridiculous that Chevy requires them to do unnecessary work instead of an easy fix. Also, I specifically requested that the techs look at my brakes and was told that they always look at them during an oil change. I was told in June 2024 at an oil change at this dealership that I needed new brakes. I asked if it could wait a little bit and was told yes, so I declined the service. At the next oil change I was told that the brakes were fine. Then at this most recent oil change I was again told that the brakes were fine. Now I have no trust in this service department. They either tried to get me to purchase a service that I didn’t need…new brakes…a year ago, or they haven’t really looked at my brakes like they claimed to do. I’m not sure. We are getting ready to go on a trip, and now my husband is going to have to look at the brakes to make sure they’re ok. Overall, not impressed.

Had oil changed. Technician overtightened oil plug and stripped it out. I lost all my oil. This is great second time this has happened.
