The dealership opened in 2007 as part of the family-owned and operated Gates Automotive Group of Northern Indiana. In 2015, Jeff Hobson, who had been co-owner and president since 2007, became the sole owner of the dealership and renamed it Hobson Chevrolet Buick GMC.
